Frequently Asked Questions

General

Is PrintCalendar really free?
Yes, completely free. No hidden fees, no premium tiers, no registration required. All features are available to everyone.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. Just open the editor, create your calendar, and download. Your calendar data stays in your browser.
What browsers are supported?
PrintCalendar works in all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version for the best experience.

Creating Calendars

What is the Smart Layout Engine?
Our algorithm automatically adjusts font sizes and abbreviates text to ensure all events fit within their cells. No more overflowing text.
Can I add recurring events?
Currently, events are added individually. Recurring event support is on our roadmap for a future update.
What date formats are supported?
You can choose between different date formats and week start days (Sunday or Monday) in the editor settings.

E-ink Devices

Which E-ink devices are supported?
ReMarkable 2, Kindle Scribe, Supernote A5X/A6X, Boox devices, and Kobo Elipsa. You can also enter custom dimensions for any device.
How do I transfer the PDF to my device?
Download the PDF, then transfer via USB cable, cloud sync (Dropbox, Google Drive), email, or your device's companion app.
Why E-ink optimization?
E-ink displays have different contrast and refresh characteristics than regular screens. Our presets optimize line weights, fonts, and spacing for the best readability.

PDF & Printing

What is a vector PDF?
Vector PDFs use mathematical formulas instead of pixels, so text and graphics remain crisp at any size. Perfect for printing at different scales.
What paper sizes are available?
A4, A3, US Letter, and custom dimensions. All sizes include appropriate margins for home and professional printing.
Can I print in color?
Currently, calendars are optimized for black and white printing. Color themes are planned for a future release.

Troubleshooting

Solutions to common issues.

PDF download is not starting
Check if your browser is blocking pop-ups or downloads. Try disabling ad blockers temporarily. If the issue persists, try a different browser.
Calendar preview looks different from the PDF
The preview is optimized for screen display. The PDF uses higher resolution and different rendering. The PDF output is the accurate representation of your printed calendar.
Text appears cut off in calendar cells
Try shortening your event names or selecting a larger paper/device size. The Smart Layout Engine will automatically adjust, but very long text may still need to be abbreviated.
